De La Salle University (DLSU), in partnership with the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) and the Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU), will hold the 4th PRME Asia Regional Forum on November 13 to 15 in Manila, Philippines. The theme of the Forum is “Sustainable Business for the Common Good: Developing Asia’s Leaders for Today and Tomorrow.”
CBRD Director Dr. Raymund Habaradas served as one of the facilitators of the Flagship Course on the Management of Research in SUCs, which was jointly sponsored by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP). He facilitated the session on “Pathways to Research Excellence: Building a Research Culture in SUCs” for the first batch of participants in Cebu City on June 3, 2013, and for the second batch in Antipolo City on September 30, 2013. Each batch included about 70 vice presidents / directors for research and research officers of state universities and colleges (SUCs) from different parts of the country.
Cebu City witnessed the successful staging of the First National Business and Management Conference, which was jointly organized by the University of San Carlos (USC) and the Ramon V. del Rosario College of Business (RVR-COB) of De La Salle University (DLSU). The theme of the research conference, which was held at the USC grounds on August 30-31, was “Trailblazing New and Sustainable Business and Management Practices”.
Graduate students and faculty members of the Ramon V. del Rosario College of Business (RVR-COB) received valuable tips on writing for scientific publications from Dr. Gerardo Largoza, Associate Professor of the Economics Department, in a two-session seminar-workshop titled “Writing an article for a scholarly journal.” The seminar workshop, which was co-sponsored by the Office of the Vice Dean for Research and Graduate Studies (VD-RAGS) and the Center for Business Research and Development (CBRD), was held on July 31 and August 7 at the Ariston Estrada Seminar Room of De La Salle University.
In an attempt to drum up interest in research among the faculty members and graduate students, the Center for Business Research and Development (CBRD), in cooperation with the Office of the Vice Dean for Research and Graduate Studies of the Ramon V. del Rosario College of Business (RVR-COB), organized an orientation session titled “Research and Advocacy – the RVR-COB way” last July 26 at the 4th floor of the Henry Sy. Sr. Hall.
The Center for Business Research and Development (CBRD), in cooperation with the Management and Organization Department (MOD) of the Ramon V. del Rosario College of Business (RVR-COB), launched the CBRD Lecture Series on July 23, 2013 with the talk of action research expert Dr. David Coghlan.
The Center for Business Research and Development (CBRD) and the Office of the Vice Dean for Research and Graduate Studies (VD-RAGS) of the Ramon V. del Rosario College of Business (RVRCOB) co-sponsored a seminar featuring action research expert Dr. David Coghlan. Members of the academic community of De La Salle University (DLSU) and several guests from other institutions attended the seminar titled “Doing Action Research in Your Own Organization”, which was held at the Ariston Estrada Seminar Room on July 12, 2013.
The Financial Executives of the Philippines (FINEX) and international management consulting firm Deloitte Philippines awarded RVR-COB associate professor Dr. Benito Teehankee the Outstanding Educator in a Finance-related Field – Special Award in Corporate Governance Studies last June 19 in Makati City.
RVR-COB Dean and CBRD Fellow Dr. Ginny Santiago received the 2013 Outstanding Paper Award at the Literati Network Awards for Excellence 2013. Co-authored by Fernando Roxas, the paper “Identifying, developing, and moving sustainable communities through renewable energy” was published in World Journal of Science, Technology and Sustainable Development.
The DLSU Center for Business Research and Development (CBRD) will focus on research themes that support the mission of the University “to be a leading learner-centered research university, bridging faith and scholarship in the service of society, especially the poor.” This was revealed by newly appointed CBRD Director Dr. Raymund B. Habaradas, who also spelled out the priorities of the Center for academic year 2013-2014, after a series of consultation sessions with faculty members of the different academic departments of the Ramon V. del Rosario College of Business (RVRCOB).
