This was the question that the 2nd National Business and Management Conference (NBMC) sought to answer through a presentation of different researches and papers by faculty members, researchers and graduate students coming from different universities in Luzon and Visayas. The 2nd NBMC was held last October 17-18, 2014 at the Andrew Gonzalez Hall, De La Salle University, and tackled various topics related to the theme “Responsible management and sustainable business in a borderless world”.
A total of 11 parallel sessions covering 45 paper presentations were held during the two-day conference. The sessions covered topics such as ethics and corporate social responsibility, corporate governance and leadership, labor and employment issues, business education, global business, tourism and service management, entrepreneurship and family business, agricultural economics, local governance and management issues, consumer attitudes and purchasing behavior, and finance.
DLSU researchers and graduate students led the number of conference paper presenter and participants. Other paper presenters came from San Beda College, Center for Research and Development of Cebu Normal University, UP Cebu Business Management Cluster, St. Paul University Manila, DLSU – College of Saint Benilde, La Consolacion College Manila, University of San Carlos, Benguet State University, Systems Plus College Foundation, and Central Bicol State University of Agriculture.
The NBMC is an annual activity that aims to enhance the ability of faculty members and graduate students of business schools engage in scholarly research by providing them a venue for presentation and critiquing of their ideas. The 2014 NBMC was jointly organized by the De La Salle University, San Beda College and University of San Carlos, Cebu (Cresilda Caning).
