The DLSU Center for Business Research and Development co-organized a case writing workshop with the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) – Dr. Andrew L. Tan Center for Tourism (AIM-ALT-CFT) at the DLSU Faculty Center on March 20, 2015. This workshop. attended by faculty members from AIM and DLSU, was designed to develop a pool of researchers and writers of teaching cases and teaching notes that can be used in business and management classes in Philippine colleges and universities. At the end of the workshop, the participants are expected to be equipped with the following skills: using a teaching case, writing a teaching case, understanding the basics of a multimedia case, and writing a teaching note.
Serving as workshop facilitator is AIM-ALT-CFT Executive Director Fernando Y. Roxas, who is also a core faculty of AIM’s W. SyCip Graduate School of Business. He teaches Operations Management, Quantitative Analysis, Systems Thinking, Project Management and other basic modules in the Degree and Executive Learning Programs of the Institute. In terms of research, Roxas has published internationally in peer-reviewed, energy journals. One of his recent works has recently been cited as outstanding by the Emerald Literati Network Awards for Excellence 2013. He is also the pioneer and premier proponent of the multi-media case format in AIM.
Roxas has a Master’s degree in engineering geology from the Asian Institute of Technology in Bangkok, Thailand; and an MBA from the AIM. He obtained his Doctor of Business Administration, with High Distinction, from the De La Salle University Graduate School of Business. An acknowledged expert in the field of energy, with about 30 years of experience in the sector, he routinely does projects for multilateral and bilateral agencies.
